Communications and marketing expert Nisa Schmitz specializes in content strategy, copywriting, asset creation and project management. She develops comprehensive marketing campaigns to achieve leadership’s goals with a multi-channel approach and measures KPIs to gauge success and identify improvements.

Most recently, she worked as Content Manager for Pearl Certification, where she served as the resident copywriter for Pearl’s four divisions. She developed the network member communication strategy incorporating audience segmentation, email newsletters, blogs, social media and case studies. By increasing email frequency, writing clearer calls to action and collaborating with the sales team to identify blog topics, Nisa increased click-through rates by 350%.

Prior to Pearl, Nisa oversaw the communications and marketing strategies for the U.S. operations at Trouw Nutrition in Highland, IL. She hired, managed and mentored the creative team in the development of high-quality marketing assets. With the input of key leadership, she developed the brand story, vision and mission. She also project managed a two-day, in-person customer training program, including delegating tasks to a team of seven, overseeing the communications plan, and surveying participant satisfaction.

As Marketing Manager for PSAV, Nisa managed designers in the creation of B2B collateral and landing pages for 1,500 locations. She wrote innovative copy for case studies, newsletters, blogs, presentations and blogs and introduced a new project management system for the Marketing Department. She oversaw intranet content, introduced an app to evaluate internal email analytics, and launched an employee engagement app.

When her children were in their infancy, Nisa worked part-time as a freelance marketing contractor. She oversaw Affilorama’s public relations, earning coverage in Fortune and Forbes; she wrote content for Drury Hotels’ new Careers website; and she authored educational posts for Utopian Life Partners.

As Communications Manager at Swank Audio Visuals, Nisa oversaw internal communications, social media and media relations, including securing 22nd place for the SwankDraw app on InformationWeek’s 500.

At Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, Nisa served as Director of Communications, Marketing and Alumni Affairs. She developed and executed the communications and marketing strategies, served on the President’s Cabinet and managed a $270k advertising budget.

Nisa earned a Master of Science in Mass Communications at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she was awarded the John Rider Graduate Achievement Award. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
